Contemporary Patio Cover

Just as there are literally hundreds of styles in patios, there are also hundreds of ways to build a patio cover. Fixed, retractable, slatted, permanent, fabric, steel, wood and so forth. A contemporary styled home calls for a contemporary patio cover.

Here we have constructed a steel frame around a raised patio/deck. Corners and connections are soldered, and a row of steel piping overhead allows for a series of panels to weave over and under thereby creating a ceiling or cover. The overhead covering is naturally open, and although it creates shade below, it also allows air and some moisture to pass though. While any kind of fabric might be used such as awning fabric in a multitude of colors and patterns, this patio cover is constructed with dark mesh screening. The monotone hue is in keeping with the surrounding steel structure which results in a low profile, open and contemporary styling. Overhead screening is removeable and can be replaced over time with new screening or fabric swathes.
